2023 Program Updates and Highlights

  • NEW Bachelor of Communication and Digital Journalism. This highly sought after program embraces studies in public and strategic communication, media relations, media and technology, multimedia storytelling, digital journalism, visual communication, and digital design.
    Students can find careers as a digital journalist, public relations specialist, a media analyst or a content producer to name a few.

    Admissions requirements: Open Admissions (can upgrade within the program if needed to meet admission requirements).

    • BC Grade 12
    • English Studies /English First Peoples 12 with a minimum of 73% (or equivalent).

  • NEW Priority on-campus housing for domestic applicants: Students who apply to TRU before January 31, 2024 can also indicate they would like to be considered for on-campus housing. They will receive a housing offer with their admissions decision. Students who do not indicate they would like to be considered, and those who apply after January 31, will need to apply to on-campus housing separately.

  • NEW data science major within the Bachelor of Science. Data science is a broad field that encompasses the generation and analysis of data. Many industries are increasingly relying on data, generating exciting new career opportunities. Students can then consider pursuing TRU’s Master of Science in Data Science.

  • REMINDER: Admissions requirements and process for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing changed for fall 2023 and will be in place for fall 2024.
    Applicants applying as one of two admission categories: high school applicant or post-secondary applicant.

    TRU admitted the following in fall 2023:
    43 high school students
    36 post-secondary students

  • Architectural and Engineering Technology Diploma is undergoing a transition from a three-year to a two-year program with an anticipated start of September 2024.

  • TRU’s Fine Arts programs including the Bachelor of Fine Arts, Visual Arts Diploma and Certificates are being reviewed and considered for elimination or reduction, as such, we are not accepting applications for fall 2024 or winter 2025.

The TRU Future Students Advisors are the primary contacts for high school and community educators. They are each assigned unique regions and schools within BC and Canada.

Your advisor will support you with navigating TRU’s enrolment processes and will be your go to for those hard to find answers and questions.
