UniForum Service Effectiveness Survey
In September and October 2026, TRU is participating in the UniForum Service Effectiveness Survey (SES) — a global survey used by leading universities to understand how well administrative and support services are meeting the needs of faculty and staff.
What the survey measures
The SES gathers feedback from academic and non-academic staff on the importance of and satisfaction with university support services.
The survey:
- Covers 35 administrative services.
- Enables comparisons across the higher-education sector by service area.
- Collects structured feedback to help identify opportunities for improvement in systems, processes and people capabilities.
- Will take about 15 minutes to complete.
The survey gives staff a direct voice in shaping improvements to administrative service areas such as Human Resources, Finance, General Administration, Information Technology, Facilities Management, External Engagement, Student Support, Teaching Administration, Teaching Design, Development and Delivery, Research Administration, and Research Facilities and Support.
How the survey works
Selected employees will receive an email from Nous Data Insights, the external consultancy that administers the survey on behalf of all UniForum institutions. This email will include a unique survey link.
The survey:
- Asks you to rate the importance and satisfaction of key administrative services.
- Asks you to rate each service on the following attributes: reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy and tangibles.
- Offers the opportunity to give short comments on areas of high and low satisfaction.
Who will receive the survey
TRU academic and professional staff who are currently employed full-time or part-time, have been employed for more than six months, work more than one day per week, and meet the following criteria:
- TRU academic staff who fall within the following roles: president, provost, vice-president, professor, associate professor, assistant professor, lecturer and librarians.
- TRU professional staff (admin and CUPE) who fall within UniForum competency Band 2 or higher.
Privacy and confidentiality
All survey responses are de-identified before being shared with TRU. Nous Data Insights manages the data collection, benchmarking and reporting. No identifiable individual-level data is ever provided to TRU.

Participation in UniForum helps TRU strengthen the connection between operational insight and strategic action. The information gathered supports:
