Admission Requirements TRU Respiratory Therapy
Acceptance into the RT program is competitive and selective. There are a limited number of seats. Contact admissions@tru.ca if you have questions.
Educational requirements
Education completed outside Canada
If you are a permanent resident of Canada or a Canadian citizen but did not complete your high school or post-secondary education in Canada, you will need complete the following prior to applying for the RT Diploma:
- TOEFL, IELTS or the Language Proficiency test (see TRU's English Language Proficiency Requirements for Academic Study).
Requirements upon acceptance which are due by Aug. 31
- Completion of program information session is mandatory. Contact resp@tru.ca to register.
- Completion of "C" level CPR with AED or BLS for fast-track
- Criminal record check*
- Complete immunization documentation*
*These will be emailed to you by the respiratory therapy program assistant.
