We host events throughout the year that give us an opportunity to thank and celebrate our donors while raising funds at the same time. Participating in or sponsoring our fundraising events is a great way to provide financial aid for students!
Your donations change lives. Read more about the impact of our donors below.
Christine Sorensen has made a lasting impact at Thompson Rivers University by establishing an in-perpetuity family scholarship to support third-year Indigenous nursing students. A valued member of the TRU Board of Governors, she has served the region as a public health nurse, is the former president of the BC Nurses’ Union, and is of Métis heritage. Through her and her family’s generosity and commitment to student success, they are helping future generations of nurses achieve their educational and career goals. Thank you for your generous philanthropy.
Marg Kosolofski (Nursing Diploma ’75) recently gave to the TRU Nursing 50th Anniversary Legacy Scholarship Fund and she helped organize the Class of 1975 reunion weekend. She is paying it forward in memory of her parents, who provided for her in going to school, and she wants to do the same for future students. Thank you for your generous philanthropy.
Jeremy Gauthier recently organized a fundraiser to build the Brendan Avery Stokes Memorial Scholarship Fund, which has been established in memory of Brendan Stokes to support trades students at TRU. Thank you for your generous philanthropy!
David and Candace Thatcher have been giving back in support of students at TRU for over 35 years. They recently stepped up for WolfPack student-athletes at TRU’s Back the ‘Pack Night, where Canadian Olympian Waneek Horn-Miller (middle of photo) was the keynote speaker. Thank you, David and Candace, for your generous philanthropy.
Terry and Margaret Bangen have been donating to support students at TRU for many years! They recently amplified the impact of their gift by offering a giving challenge during TRU Day of Giving. Thank you for your generous philanthropy!
Thank you to Dr. Kim Calder Stegemann for creating an endowed scholarship fund with other professors’ emeriti to support high-achieving students in any faculty. At TRU, professor emeritus/a is a title bestowed to a retired faculty member that has gone above and beyond the expectations of their role.
